The new building of the Nara National Museum. The facility extends to the east and west wings from the entrance hall. The west wing, famous for exhibiting the Shosoin collection, was completed in 1972, and the east wing in 1997. The building was designed by Junzo Yoshimura and this work recieved the BCS Prize,100 Public Architecture Prizes, and the Japan Art Academy Prize.
