Tsurugaoka Museum, Kamakura

A museum renovated a former Kanagawa Prefectural Museum of Modern Art, Kamakura located in the precincts of Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. This is a two stories building. A museum shop and cafe were newly added on the north side of the building. The basic renovation design work was done by Tansei Research Institute Co., Ltd.
This work was selected by DOCOMOMO JAPAN as one of modern movement architecture in Japan. Also, designated as an important cultural property by Kanagawa Prefecture.
